A well rounded artist Marisa was born in Naples and in her own words: “wouldn’t have been born in any other city”. She trained with the great Eduardo de Filippo’s company and worked for 18 years in the theatre with names like Ugo Gregoretti, Armando Pugliese, Vincenzo Salemme. Then in 1984 she was in “Bagaglino”, in ‘85 in “Quelli della notte” with Renzo Arbore, and the following year was that of “Marisa la nuit”.
Before starting the programme with Arbore she was in 34 films, “one of which I am very proud of, filmed in Venezuela with Antonio Banderas in 1992: Tierra Nueva.” In 1976 she starred in Sergio Corrucci’s film “La Mazzetta”, where she acted alongside Nino Manfredi and Ugo Tognazzi. In 1992 she hosted “Fantastico” with Adriano Celentano and in 1993 “Domenica
In”. Ten years of television were to follow. She went back to her beloved stage in 2006 with “Menopause the Musical”, directed by Manuela Metri, about the lively “over 50s”, which was a great success, and in 2008, but still running in Italian theatres, “A me mi piace o’ sciò”, where she celebrates thirty-five years of show business: “I love the theatre, studying, being in contact with people, and people”.
